Brief Profile of the Department

                     Department of Malayalam established in the year 1972 with one faculty, had been subsequently strengthened with five faculty members. This Department, a part of the School of Indian Languages is now Offering M.A , M. Phil Courses and Ph.D Programs besides conducting Certificate and Diploma Courses. It has produced 13 Ph.D in the field of Language and Literature, more than 120 M.Phil Degree holders and about 140 Post-graduates. The faculty members have published 17 books and around 90 research papers. The Department has organized seven national and regional level seminars. The faculty members and symposia in different parts of India. The Department has also been actively involved in extension activities and organizing lectures. On cultural aspects, Onam celebration is one of the ethnic events which is successfully organized and celebrated every year with all its cultural flavours.
