The basic information and database provided by various institutions such as

Census of India, Survey of India, and National Remote Sensing Data Center are also

gratefully acknowledged. The Institutional and Administrative facilities extended by

Madurai Kamaraj University through the UPE office and the School of Earth and

Atmospheric Sciences during the entire period of project work is greatfully

acknowledged.

Thanks are also due to Mr. B. Balamurugan @ Balaji and those who have

associated with him for the neat printing of the whole manuscript of Thematic Map Plates

and Diagrams with brief write-ups added in the appropriate places of Digital Atlas. He is
