Students Counselling Cell of Madurai Kamaraj University is functioning at the University’s Hospital / Health Centre so that the needy student/scholar can approach and seek the help without any inhibitions and hesitance just like visiting a Hospital for any physical ailment.
All the twenty Schools and Centres of Madurai Kamaraj University have a ‘Teacher Counsellor’ each. All the 26 Teacher Counselors of the University have been trained in Basic Counselling Skills by M.S.Chellamuthu Trust for Mental Health and Rehabilitation Madurai. The trained Teacher Counsellors handle the ‘Value Education & Counseling’ class of one hour per week (Wednesday 2-3 p.m.) and keep in close touch with the students of the concerned School to cater to their emotional and intellectual needs.
