Oothupatti village has been adopted from this academic year to provide training on Income Generating Activities for Women
Two days Training programme in Tsunami Affected Village at Kanayakumari during March 2009 under UGC – UPE Extension Programme.
Two days Training programme in Tribal Village at Thandikudi (Kodaikanal) during 19th & 20th March, 2008 under UGC – UPE Extension Programme.
Five days Training programme for Women Self Help Group, Pengal Munnetra Sangam at Thengalpatti during 6th to 10th August, 2007 under UGC – UPE Extension Programme.
Village adoption, Village Survey & Tree Planting
The School of Economics adopted Villani Perumalpatti village in Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District. On 14.09.2017, 500 saplings were planted on the two sides of the road spreading over 3 Kms and in all the available common places. Village people cooperated well. Household survey among 500 sample households was conducted by the students with the help of the interview schedule meticulously prepared by the Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.P.P.Chellathurai.
