         Entrepreneurship is increasingly recognized as an important driver of economic growth of a country. Government of India has recognized the importance of entrepreneurship and has introduced programs like "Make in India" & "Start-up India".

         Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, Tamilnadu (EDII-TN), Chennai is an apex organisation in the field of entrepreneurship education and self-employment promotion in the state of Tamil Nadu. EDII was constituted by Government of Tamil Nadu as a not-for- profit society and is administered by Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

         Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai is serving as a hub for Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, Chennai since September 2019. Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai region comprises of the four southern district of Tamilnadu namely Madurai, Theni, Virudhunagar and Ramanathapuram. There are about 98 affiliated and autonomous Arts and Science Colleges are located in this region. A number of programmes have been organized for improving the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the students in the region.

         Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai along with EDII-TN is promoting Entrepreneurial and Innovation eco system in Arts and Science Colleges affiliated to MKU and it is through Academic Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (AIEDP)

         Various other programmes will also be organized through the hub for the benefit of faculty and students interested in entrepreneurship. The State will bear almost the entire cost of such programmes. To participate in IEDP programmes/workshops in our region contact EDII – HUB, MKU.
