Contribution of Alumni
The Department of Youth Welfare Studies, M.K. University of outstanding alumini utilized the services of the Department as well as the University. Some of their contribution towards the promotion of academic profile of the department are given below.
Mr. Dinesh Oliver Ponraj, an alumni of the Department, served as District Collector i/c. He gave Rs.23 lakhs under self- sufficiency scheme to construct the second floor building of Department.
The Government of Tamil Nadu in recognition of the services rendered by the Department of Youth Welfare in the field of Coaching for IAS Exams since 1992 sanctioned Anna Centenary Coaching Centre for IAS Exams with Provision for free coaching and boarding for 100 students every year which is setup in the Department of Youth Welfare in February 2010.

The Department of Youth Welfare Studies, organized the 26th Madurai Kamaraj University Youth Festival on the theme “Higher Education for Youth Empowerment and Employability from 19th to 20th March 2011 at the Yadava College, Madurai

Department Council
Dr.Pradeep V. Philip, I.P.S., Inspector General of Police and an Alumni of MKU was nominated as a member in the Department Council for designing and Development Curriculum for the P.G. programme namely M.A. (Administrative Studies). He participated in the Department Council Meeting and Contributed to Curriculum formulation & Development in 2011.
