Profile of the School

    Department of Computer Applications was established in the academic year 2013-14. The functions that were carried out in Computer Centre were transferred to this department. Subsequently all the Faculty Members working in Computer centre were also Transferred. MCA Course was initially the major job assignment and the Faculty members were involved in guiding Part Time Research Scholars, From the Academic year 2013-14. A new course namely M.Phil. in Computer Application was started with an intake of 24 Students.

    Department of Computer Sciences was established in the academic year 1986.

    Department of Library and Information Sciences was Established in 1972. When it was established, it offered one year B.L.I.Sc., and M.L.I.Sc Programmes. From 2007 it is offering two years integrated M.L.I.Sc Programmes under CBCS. This department has started M.Phil Programme in Library and Information Sciences from 2013 . Now it is functioning as a full-fledged Department with one Associate Professor/ Head, Three Assistant Professors, 23 M.L.I.Sc., Students. 16 M.Phil Scholars and 40 part Time Ph.D Scholars. The Students of the departments are getting 80% Placement for every year in various institutions.
